Environmental Art Project launched for 2022

The theme of the Environmental Art Project for 2022 has been announced as Backyard Biodiversity.

Presented by Mundaring Arts Centre Inc., this annual project provides the opportunity for primary school children to creatively engage with local and global environmental issues, whilst developing their own positive message about protecting the earth.

Backyard Biodiversity, challenges teachers, students and parents to look closely at nature and discover, observe and monitor the animals that live in our local area.

HOW TO TAKE PART

  • Visit mundaringartscentre.com.au/eap to download the education resource pack and entry form for teachers, parents and guardians.

  • Research the 2022 topic Backyard Biodiversity

  • Create an artwork/design on A4 paper (portrait) based on the research

  • Submit artworks to Mundaring Arts Centre by 5pm Monday 17 October 2022

All entries will be showcased in a virtual exhibition from which up to 26 prizes of $50 value will be awarded, with the school of the winning entry receiving an additional $50 prize for the purchase of environmental education resources.

Highly commended book prizes are also awarded to students with exceptional entries.

Winning entries will be transformed into exciting public outcomes such as banners, bags or a walking trail in the Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan.
